Acknowledging the fact that KL Rahul’s recent performances in Tests are a point of concern, BCCI Chief Selector, MSK Prasad has spoken about making changes in the opening pair of the Indian batting line up. As per reports, Rohit Sharma is set to be given a chance as an opener in the longest format of the game.
Rahul has managed to start off his innings well but has somehow failed to convert his starts into big scores. He hasn’t got a 50-plus score in Tests since his 149 against England which came twelve innings back.

"As selection committee, we haven't met after the conclusion of the West Indies tour. We will definitely take this (Rohit as an opener) point into consideration when we all meet and discuss about it," Prasad told India Today in an exclusive interview.
"KL (Rahul) is definitely a great talent. Of course, he is going through a bit tough time in Test cricket. We are definitely concerned about his form. He needs to spend more time on the wicket and regain his touch and form," he added.
Former Indian skippers, Sourav Ganguly and Anil Kumble have already suggested playing Rohit in the opening role in the five-day-format as well. Now it remains to be seen if the switch is made soon or Rahul is given another chance to show his talent.
