Known for his sheer simplicity, former India captain MS Dhoni has once again shown why he remains one of the most respected personnel across the globe.

As of now, the World Cup-winning captain is on a two-month break from cricket and is serving the 106 TA Batallion (Para) of the Indian Army in Kashmir. And while several stories have popped from his tenure, this particular one where he is photographed while polishing his army boots has earned a lot of accolades.

It was only a few days back that he was spotted playing volleyball with other soldiers in the camp. Having started serving his regiment from July 30, Dhoni is expected to stay with the Army unit till August 15, where he will be a part of patrol, guard and post duties.

It is safe to say the 38-year-old is building his rapport outside cricket to perfection. Holding an honorary Lieutenant Colonel rank in the Indian Army, Dhoni is a part of the Victor Force, which patrols the region of South Kashmir.

Dhoni retired from Test cricket in 2014 but has been a vital member of the limited-overs team. And although he was criticized for his low scoring rate at the World Cup, he was one of India’s top performers in the tournament, scoring 273 runs in eight matches at an average of 45.50 and a strike rate of 87.78.
