The Kratijyot Mahila Pratishthan Yuva Kabaddi Series Inter District Youth League 2024 began on Tuesday, March 5 with Ahmednagar District beating Mumbai Shahar 41-25 in the opening match of the tournament.
A total of 16 teams will compete in the second edition of the Yuva Kabaddi Series Youth League. These participating teams have been divided into two pools of eight teams each.
Apart from Ahmednagar District and Mumbai Shahar, Beed District, Dhule District, Jalna District, Nanded District, Raigad District and Ratnagiri District are the other teams placed in Pool A of the ongoing Yuva Kabaddi Series Youth League 2024.
Pool B comprises Dharashiv District, Kolhapur District, Latur District, Nandurbar District, Nashik District, Palghar District, Sangli District and Satara District.
Each team will play the other seven sides in their Pool once in a single round-robin format.
The top four teams from each pool will advance to the Promotion Round while the four bottom-placed teams in each pool will move to the Relegation Round.
Each team will play seven matches in the Promotion Round, a total of 28 matches. All teams in the Promotion Round will advance to the Summit Round.
Every team in the Relegation Round will also play seven matches. The top two teams in the Relegation Round will progress to the Summit Round and play all eliminator matches. The other six teams will be eliminated.
A total of 10 teams will compete in the Summit Round from April 3-6. As many as 15 matches will be played in this stage to determine the winner.
All matches in the KMP Yuva Kabaddi Inter District Youth League 2024 will be played at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in Balewadi, Pune.
Ahmednagar District won the inaugural edition of the Yuva Kabaddi Series Youth League after beating Nashik District 44-40 in the 2023 final.
Yuva Kabaddi Series Youth League 2024 points system
Teams will earn five or six points for a win depending on their margin of victory. If a team wins a match by more than seven points, they will be awarded six points. In case they win by a margin of seven points or less, they will bag five points.
A tie will give teams three points, while a loss will result in no points for the losing side unless the margin of defeat is seven points or less, in which case the losing team also earns one point.
