The Yuva Kabaddi Series Winter Edition 2024 began on Friday, January 12 with Palani Tuskers beating Chola Veerans 26-11 in the opening match of the tournament.
A total of 12 teams will compete in a total of 120 action-packed matches in the seventh edition of the kabaddi tournament. The ongoing edition of YKS will see 240 players from 12 different states showcase their talent.
Apart from Chola Veerans and Palani Tuskers, Aravalli Arrows, Hampi Heroes, Himalayan Tahrs, Maurya Mavericks, Murthal Magnets, Panchala Pride, Periyar Panthers, Sindh Sonics, Tadoba Tigers and Vijayanagara Veers are the other teams participating in the Yuva Kabaddi Series Winter Edition 2024.
The winter edition of Yuva Kabaddi Series will be staged in three rounds - Survival Round, Challenger Round and Summit Round.
Each team will play the other sides once in a round-robin format in the Survival Round to be held from January 12-15. A total of 66 matches will be held in this round across 14 days.
The top 10 teams will advance to the Challenger Round while the two bottom-placed teams will be eliminated.
Meanwhile, the Challenger Round will take place from January 26 to February 3. As many as 45 matches will be staged in the Challenger Round across nine days.
The top six teams will advance to the Summit Round which will be staged from February 4-7. A total of nine matches will be held in the playoffs.
All matches of the Yuva Kabaddi Series Winter Edition 2024 will be held at the Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium in Pondicherry.
Aravalli Arrows are the defending Yuva Kabaddi Series champions having won the Monsoon edition of the tournament in October last year.
Teams will earn five or six points for a win depending on their margin of victory. A tie will give teams three points, while a loss will result in no points for the losing side unless the margin of defeat is close, in which case the losing team also earns one point.
