Women's Kabaddi League 2023 is set to begin with a grand opening ceremony in Dubai on Friday, June 16.
An innovative initiative by APS Sports and Training LLC, the inaugural edition of Women’s Kabaddi League is set to feature eight teams and will witness participation from 120 women kabaddi players.
This tournament will witness 12 days of high-octane non-stop action and the teams participating in it are Rajasthan Raiders, Delhi Dynamites, Gujarat Angels, Great Marathas, Haryana Hustlers, Punjab Panthers, Uma Kolkata, and Bengaluru Hawks.
Each team will square off against the others in this tournament once in a round-robin format and the top four sides at the end of the league phase will progress to the semi-finals. The winners of the semi-finals will then square off in the final.
A total of 31 matches will take place in this tournament, including 28 league stage fixtures, two semi-finals, and the final.
The opening ceremony for this tournament will take place at 7:30 PM IST on Friday, June 16 and it will be followed by the first match Women’s Kabaddi League 2023 featuring Rajasthan Raiders and Gujarat Angels.
Many reputed players like Harwinder Kaur, who is a senior national kabaddi player and a gold medalist as well as Moti Chandan, who is also a national kabaddi player that took part in the Asian Games are a part of this tournament.
Barring the first day of this tournament, there will be triple headers each day prior to the sem-finals and final. All matches will be held at the Shabab Al-Ahil Sports Club in Dubai and Bollywood actor Govinda is the brand ambassador of the league.
