The Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) Season 11 started on Friday, October 18 as Telugu Titans beat Bengaluru Bulls 37-29 in the opening match at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad.
As many as 12 teams will compete in a total of 137 matches across three months in PKL 11. The dates for the PKL 11 playoffs will be announced at a later date.
The league stage of the Pro Kabaddi Season 11 will be staged in a three-city caravan format.
The first leg of the Pro Kabaddi Season 11 will start at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium before moving to Noida Indoor Stadium from November 10. The third leg of the tournament will take place at the Balewadi Badminton Stadium in Pune from December 3.
Bengal Warriors, Bengaluru Bulls, Dabang Delhi K.C, Gujarat Giants, Haryana Steelers, Jaipur Pink Panthers, Patna Pirates, Puneri Paltan, Tamil Thalaivas, Telugu Titans, U Mumba and U.P. Yoddhas are the teams that are battling for the Pro Kabaddi Season 11 title.
As per the Pro Kabaddi Season 11 schedule, each team will play the other side twice in a double round-robin format. The top six teams after all league matches will qualify for the playoffs.
The top two teams in the standings will advance automatically to the PKL Season 11 semi-finals. The remaining four teams will lock horns in the eliminators.
The third-placed team will face the sixth-placed side, while the fourth-placed outfit will square off against the fifth-placed team in the eliminators for a place in the semi-finals.
The winners of the two semi-finals will later battle in the Pro Kabaddi Season 11 final to be held in January.
Puneri Paltan are the defending champions of the PKL title after they defeated Haryana Steelers 28-25 in the 2023-24 final to clinch their maiden PKL title.
Some of the world's most talented defenders including the likes of Fazel Atrachali, Mohammadreza Shadloui Chiyaneh, Krishan Dhull, Saurabh Nandal, Sunil Kumar, Yogesh Bijender Dahiya, Gaurav Khatri and Sahil Gulia are featuring in the ongoing edition of Pro Kabaddi League.
Iranian all-rounder Mohammadreza Shadloui Chiyaneh finished with the most tackle points in the last edition of PKL. Chiyaneh amassed 97 tackle points in 24 matches to guide Puneri Paltan to their maiden PKL title.
Meanwhile, Bengal Warriorz captain Fazel Atrachali holds the record for the most tackle points in Pro Kabaddi League history. He has registered 517 tackle points in 179 matches so far.
Apart from Fazel Atrachali and Mohammadreza Shadloui Chiyaneh, Krishan Dhull, Yogesh Bijender Dahiya, Gaurav Khatri and Sahil Gulia are a few of the top contenders to finish with the most tackle points in the ongoing PKL season. Know who has the most tackle points in PKL Season 11.
