The Maharashtra State Kabaddi Championship Selection Tournament 2022 will start on December 27 in Ahmednagar. The competition will run till December 30.
The state championship will feature over 600 emerging athletes as well as some seasoned professionals, including Pro Kabaddi players like Aslam Inamdar, Shrikant Jadhav, Aditya Shinde and Shankar Gadai.
While Aslam Inamdar and Aditya Shinde played for Puneri Paltan in PKL this season, Srikant Jadhav took the mat for Bengal Warriors. Shankar Gadai represented Gujarat Giants.
Aslam Inamdar scored 150 points for Puneri Paltan, finishing 15th in the most raid points in PKL Season 9 tally.
In the 70th edition this year, the Maharashtra State Kabaddi Championship Selection Tournament 2022 will involve senior men’s and women’s teams from 25 districts of the state.
Ahmednagar are the defending champions in the men's division while Pune took the title last time in the womne's competition.

The best players from this tournament will be selected to represent Maharashtra at the National Kabaddi Championship in 2023.
Maharashtra had reached the final of the previous national championship, where they lost to Indian Railways 38-21 in the summit clash.
