The tournament started on July 22 with all the matches played at the Future Fighters Kabaddi Academy in Palra, an academy owned by former India and U Mumba captain Anup Kumar.
More than 140 players, 20 coaches and managers from over 50 villages, towns, and other vicinities of Haryana came together in the event.
Ten teams contested the tournament after a qualifying event in March. The event comprised a double round-robin stage followed by a single round-robin Super 6 stage.
The six teams that made it to the Super 6 stage were NK Academy, Parveen & Jasvir Kabaddi Academy, Bhaini School, Amit Ashok Academy, Narwal Kabaddi & Sports Academy, and Deepak Niwas Hooda Foundation.
Four teams, including Amit Ashok Academy and Deepak Niwas Hooda Foundation, made it to the semi-finals.
“This is an excellent opportunity for budding players and academies.” Bhaini School coach Jagbir Singh said. “At this tournament, we do not have any major expenses, we are receiving everything we need making it easy to focus on the sport.”
Several well-known players attended the event including Indian national kabaddi team captain Deepak Niwas Hooda, Amit Hooda, Anup Kumar and Pardeep Narwal. Coaches like Rambir Singh Khokhar and Randhir Singh Sehrawat also made an appearance.
