The Indian Premier Kabaddi League (IPKL) 2024 is set to kickstart at the Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Panchkula, Haryana on Friday, October 4.
The inaugural season of IPKL 2024 will see eight teams competing in 31 matches over a course of a two-week long period.
The participating teams include Bengaluru Bison, Delhi Dragons, Gujarat Gladiators, Haryana Hurricanes, Mumbai Marathas, Panjab Paltan, Rajasthan Rulers and UP Titans.
IPKL 2024 will follow a single round-robin format, where each team will face the other seven sides once.
At the end of the league stage, the top four teams will advance to the semi-finals, where the top-ranked team will face the third-placed team in semi-final 1, while the second and fourth-placed sides will battle it out in semi-final 2.
With a lot at stake and plenty of top talent on display, the competition will culminate in the final, scheduled for Saturday, October 19.
Earlier on September 12, the team names, logos and the IPKL trophy were unveiled during an event in Zirakpur, Chandigarh.
Kabaddi legends such as Ajay Thakur and the IPKL's brand ambassador, Manjeet Chhillar, were present at the event.
Manjeet Chhillar, a former Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) winner and gold medalist at the 2014 Asian Games, believes that the IPKL won’t just elevate kabaddi to the next level but also steer the spotlight on more rural talent on a grand stage.
All the matches in the inaugural IPKL season will be held at the Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Panchkula, Haryana.
