Pro Kabaddi League team Jaipur Pink Panthers will feature in an Amazon Prime documentary named 'Sons of the Soil: Jaipur Pink Panthers' that is scheduled to release on December 4th. The series will cover the team’s journey in preparation and during Season 7 of the PKL.

Amazon Prime released a two-minute trailer online which featured behind-the-scenes footage from the team’s pre-season training camp at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur as well as the season. It also includes interviews from team owner, actor Abhishek Bachchan in addition to team coach N. Srinivasan and the players.

The Pink Panthers enjoyed a terrific start to their PKL Season 7 campaign, winning their first four matches and six of their first seven, but just one victory in their next six matches and injuries to key players derailed their campaign.

A run of two ties and no wins in nine matches ended their hopes of a place in the playoffs and a defeat in their final game of the season to bottom-placed Tamil Thalaivas culminated a disastrous campaign, where they finished seventh in the points table.

This marked the third straight season where Jaipur have failed to qualify for the playoffs after reaching the final twice in the first four campaigns of the PKL. The Pink Panthers are one of only three teams alongside Tamil Thalaivas and Telugu Titans who have failed to qualify for the playoffs since the league expanded to 12 teams in Season 5.

The documentary is similar to Amazon Prime's ‘All or Nothing' series, that has featured teams from the National Football League as well as the Premier League. The Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, Los Angeles Rams, Carolina Panthers, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur have been the teams that have been subjects of the ‘All or Nothing’ documentary.
