The Asian Kabaddi Championship is all set to make a return for its 11th edition, which is slated to begin on June 27 and end on June 30.
The top kabaddi teams from across the continent will be participating in this tournament in the men’s category for the upcoming Asian Kabaddi Championship 2023 that will be held in Busan, Korea after its previous edition was last held in Iran.
A standard-style kabaddi tournament that was first held in 1980, kabaddi powerhouse India is the most successful team in the Asian Kabaddi Championship having won the tournament the most number of times in the men’s category.
The Iranians are the only other country to have won this tournament having done so in 2003 in Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur.
As far as the women’s category is concerned, India is the most successful country in it as well while South Korea is the only other nation besides India to have won the Asian Kabaddi Championship women’s edition.
India has already begun practising for the 11th edition of the Asian Kabaddi Championship with their preparatory camp for the tournament in full swing with a list of probable players competing to make the final squad.
The coaching camp to prepare the players for Asian Kabaddi Championship 2023 is being conducted at the Patliputra Sports Complex in Patna.
The coaches present at the camp to evaluate and select the players for the main squad from the probables are Dronacharya and Arjun Award Winner Mr. Ashan Kumar, former Indian team coach E. Bhaskaran and another Arjuna Award Winner in Sanjeev Baliyan.
