Brazil are currently fourth in the FIFA World Cup 2026 CONMEBOL region qualifying standings with 16 points from five wins, four losses and a draw after 10 rounds.

Venezuela, meanwhile, have won twice, drawn five times and lost three games, totaling 11 points and lying in eighth spot in the 10-team table.

Brazil head into the upcoming contest after a 4-0 thumping of Peru in their last round of the FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifiers with Barcelona star Raphinha scoring twice from the spot in either half. Andreas Pereira and Luiz Henrique also scored a goal each.

Brazil have won three of their last four matches in the FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifiers held after the Copa America 2024, which concluded in July. They have scored seven goals and conceded two in their last four outings.

Venezuela, after starting the campaign on a promising note with two wins in the first four rounds, are winless in the World Cup Qualifiers for more than a year with their last win coming against Chile in October 2023.

Venezuela, who reached the quarter-finals of Copa America 2024 edition, have suffered two defeats in their last four FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifiers with the other two ending in draws. They welcome Brazil after a 1-2 defeat away at Paraguay last month.

The last time Brazil and Venezuela met each other, in the first leg of the FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifiers, both teams were inseparable after a 1-1 draw in October 2023.

CONMEBOL, also known as the South American Football Confederation, has a total of 10 teams with each team playing two matches, at home and away, against all the other sides.

The top-six teams after 18 rounds of matches will directly qualify for the FIFA World Cup 2026 which will be jointly hosted by the United States of America, Canada and Mexico. The team placed seventh will proceed to play in the FIFA Play-Off Tournament.

Five-time World Champions Brazil had topped the last two editions of the FIFA World Qualifiers in the CONMEBOL region. Brazil are ranked fifth in the FIFA World Rankings whereas Venezuela are in the 44th spot.

The Venezuela vs Brazil head-to-head record is heavily tilted in favour of the latter. The Selecao have won 24 of the total 30 matches with their last victory coming in the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers in October 2021 in a 3-1 away win.

Venezuela, meanwhile, have won two games with their last win over Brazil coming in an international friendly in 2008. Four matches, including their latest meeting in the FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifiers in October 2023, have ended in draws.
