The United States of America (USA) will host Mexico (MEX) in their seventh FIFA World Cup CONCACAF qualifier match at the TQL Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio in an early morning kick-off on Saturday, November 13. The match will begin at 7:40 AM IST.
USA vs MEX Dream11 prediction
After six rounds of fixtures, travelling team Mexico find themselves sitting at the top of the table with four wins and two draws. USA, on the other hand, have only won three and have lost one as they sit second in the standings. Current form favours Mexico, but they will be wary since they head into the contest on the back of a 2-3 defeat against Ecuador in an international friendly.
USA, meanwhile, defeated Costa Rica 2-1 in their last match, but Mexico are a new-look team since the friendly loss against Ecuador and will be a more difficult challenge for the Americans to overcome. Since USA have already defeated Mexico in two finals this year, the latter will undeniably be eyeing some sort of retribution which is a likely outcome on Saturday.
USA vs MEX Dream11 team tips for FIFA World Cup 2022 CONCACAF qualifier
Top tip: Best striker
Young forward Ricardo Pepi has been a breakout star for the USA in the qualifiers. The 18-year-old has notched three goals so far, including a brace against Jamaica, and will be a threat to Mexico on Saturday. One can also consider Mexico’s experienced forward Raul Jimenez for this position.
Top tip: Best midfielder
Given the uncertainty surrounding Christian Pulisic’s availability, USA’s Weston McKennie will be the one to keep a keen eye on in the center of the park. The 23-year-old midfielder is in good form at the moment, and has developed a good understanding with his national teammates Tyler Adams and Yunus Musah. Considering the experience he has gathered by playing in the Serie A, a good performance in a USA shirt is expected.
Top tip: Best defender and goal-keeper
Versatile defender Sergino Dest was the best possible option for a defender. But now that he is unavailable through injury, MEX’s Hector Moreno becomes a vital pick. The Mexican center-half has scored one goal in the qualifiers so far and the USA forward will need to come up with something special to get the better of him.
Veteran keeper Guillermo Ochoa needs no introduction whatsoever. The 36-year-old is expected to be tested a lot by free-flowing USA attacks but Ochoa is one of the most reliable keepers in football and has stepped up in spectacular fashion for Mexico on more than one occasion in the past.
USA vs MEX probable playing XI
