The Spanish Super Cup 2025 will start on January 9 and run till January 13 (as per IST) in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Organised by the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), the Spanish Super Cup 2025 will once again be held at King Abdullah Sports City.

FC Barcelona will lock horns with Athletic Club in the first semi-final on Thursday, January 9.

Barcelona qualified for the Spanish Super Cup 2025 after finishing runners-up in La Liga 2023-24 while Athletic Club booked their spot after they pipped Mallorca on penalties in the Copa del Rey 2023-24 final.

La Liga champions Real Madrid will square off against Copa del Rey runners-up RCD Mallorca in the other semi-final on Friday, January 10.

From the 2019-20 season, the Supercopa was expanded to four teams which included the winners and runners-up of the Copa del Rey and La Liga.

Real Madrid are the defending champions of the Spanish Super Cup after defeating arch-rivals Barcelona 4-1 in the 2023-24 final.

Star forward Vinicius Junior netted a hat-trick while Rodrygo scored the fourth goal to guide Los Blancos to another Supercopa de Espana. For Barcelona, Robert Lewandowski scored the solitary goal.

Meanwhile, Barcelona are the most successful team in the Spanish Super Cup history with 14 titles, closely followed by Madrid who have clinched the trophy on 13 occasions.
