Following a thumping 5-2 victory against Sweden earlier this week, the Portugal national football team will be aiming to get the better of Slovenia in another international friendly.
The Slovenia vs Portugal friendly will take place on Wednesday, March 27. The match will begin at 1:15 AM (IST).
Under the guidance of head coach Roberto Martinez, Portugal won each of their 10 Group J games in their UEFA Euro Qualifiers campaign and will be one of the favourites to clinch Euro 2024.
During their 5-2 triumph in their earlier friendly against Sweden this week, the likes of Rafael Leao, Matheus Nunes, Bruno Fernandes, Bruma, and Goncalo Ramos were on the scoresheet.
However, Portugal will be without the likes of Bernardo Silva, Ruben Dias, Joao Palhinha, Nelson Semedo, Toti Gomes, Rafael Leao, Bruno Fernandes and Goncalo Ramos for the friendly against Slovenia.
Meanwhile, Slovenia also qualified for UEFA Euro 2024 after winning seven, drawing once, and losing twice as they accumulated 22 points and finished second in Group H.
Slovenia’s last outing saw them play out a 2-2 draw against Malta in an international friendly earlier this week.
With a custodian the calibre of Jan Oblak and a striker the class of Benjamin Sesko, it’s safe to say that Slovenia certainly won’t be pushovers.
That said, the return of Cristiano Ronaldo to the Portuguese national team will be a huge boost for the European giants who are favourites heading into the encounter.
