Real Madrid begin their pre-season tour of the United States on Sunday, July 24 with a much-awaited match against La Liga rivals Barcelona.
Carlo Ancelotti’s men, who lifted their 14th UEFA Champions League crown last season, returned from holiday on July 8 and completed their final training session before flying out to the United States on Tuesday, July 19.
Their US tour involves as many as three games against Barcelona, Club America and Juventus.
On their return to Europe, the European champions will face Eintracht Frankfurt in the UEFA Super Cup final at Helsinki Olympic Stadium on August 11 before kicking off their La Liga season against Almeria.
Los Blancos have been extremely efficient in the transfer market ahead of the new season, having signed Antonio Rudiger from Chelsea on a free transfer and Aurelien Tchouameni from Monaco for a fee reported to be around €80 million plus €20 million in add-ons.
On the flip side, a few of the first-team regulars from the past have left the team. This includes veteran left-back Marcelo, midfielder Isco and forwards Gareth Bale and Luka Jovic.
Furthermore, it’s safe to say that the team is not done with departures and the pre-season tour will give us a better idea about the squad as they are still waiting for suitable offers for many players like Dani Ceballos, Marco Asensio, Borja Mayoral, Alvaro Odriozola and Mariano Diaz.
