The Netherlands national football team will square off against the Republic of Ireland in the UEFA Euro 2024 Qualifiers at the Johan Cruyff Arena in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The Group B NED vs IRE match will start at 1:15 AM Indian Standard Time (IST) on Sunday, November 19.
Under head coach Ronald Koeman, the Netherlands are currently placed second in the UEFA Euro 2024 Qualifiers Group B standings, six points behind leaders France. The Oranje need just one more victory to ensure qualification for Euro 2024.
The Netherlands have registered four wins and two defeats in the six qualifying games that they have played so far, accounting for 12 points.
Earlier, Ronald Koeman’s men started their UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying campaign with a disappointing 0-4 loss to France.
They soon bounced back to defeat Gibraltar 3-0 and continued their winning run by beating Greece (3-0) and Ireland (2-1).
However, the Netherlands once again went down 1-2 to France before pipping Greece 1-0 in their previous qualifying fixture.
On the other hand, the Republic of Ireland national football team have been knocked out from the top-two contention in the ongoing qualifiers and need to win against the Netherlands to stay in playoff contention.
With two wins and five losses, Ireland are currently placed fourth in the Group B standings with six points from seven games.
Led by manager Stephen Kenny, the Irish will head into the clash after thrashing Gibraltar 4-0 in their previous qualifying match.
Meanwhile, the Netherlands will miss the services of Nathan Ake, Brian Brobbey and Steven Bergwijn due to injuries.
For the Irish, the likes of Evan Ferguson, Will Smallbone, Chiedozie Ogbene and Jamie McGrath are doubtful for their final group fixture.
Netherlands vs Republic of Ireland football head-to-head
The Netherlands have a superior head-to-head record against the Republic of Ireland in international football, winning 10 of the 21 matches that they have played so far. Ireland have registered seven victories while four matches ended in draws.
The last time these two sides met, the Netherlands beat the Republic of Ireland 2-1 in the reverse fixture of the ongoing UEFA Euro 2024 Qualifiers at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin in September.
