The Netherlands will square off against Croatia in the UEFA Nations League 2023 semi-final at the Stadion Feijenoord in Rotterdam, Netherlands in the early hours of Thursday, June 15 in India. The match is scheduled to start at 12:15 AM Indian Standard Time (IST).
Both the Netherlands and Croatia have qualified for the UEFA Nations League 2023 finals after topping their League A groups in the marquee tournament.
The Dutch side won five of their six matches in the league phase of the ongoing UEFA Nations League.
Under the tutelage of former head coach Louis van Gaal, the Netherlands started their campaign with a comprehensive 4-1 win over Belgium.
They continued their winning start by pipping Wales 2-1 in their second match, before playing a 2-2 draw against Poland.
Louis van Gaal’s men later went on a dream run as they beat Wales 3-2, defeated Poland 2-0, and ended the league phase with a 1-0 victory against Belgium.
With five wins and a solitary draw, the Netherlands finished at the top of the League A Group 4 standings with 16 points to book their place in the UEFA Nations League 2023 finals.
On the other hand, 2022 FIFA World Cup semi-finalist Croatia have also been impressive in the ongoing edition of UEFA Nations League.
Coached by Zlatko Dalić, Croatia registered four wins, one draw and one loss to finish at the top of the League A Group 1 standings.
Croatia suffered an early setback in their campaign as they went down to Austria 3-0 in their opening fixture, and were also held to a 1-1 draw by France in their next encounter.
The Luka Modric-led side later bounced back to win their remaining four fixtures. Croatia beat Denmark 1-0, and also overcame France by the same scoreline.
Zlatko Dalic’s men also pipped Denmark 2-1, before beating Austria 3-1 in their final league match to qualify for the UEFA Nations League 2023 finals.
The Ronald Koeman-coached Netherlands look to win their first international silverware since Euro 1988, while the Croatians are aiming to bag their maiden international trophy.
Interestingly, the Dutch finished runners-up in the inaugural edition of the UEFA Nations League in 2019.

Netherlands and Croatia have faced each other twice in international football.
While the Croatians secured a 2-1 victory over the Netherlands in their third-place play-off at 1998 FIFA World Cup, the Dutch registered a 3-0 win in an international friendly in 2008.
