Manchester United vs Rosenborg, pre-season friendly: Know match start time and watch live streaming in India

Premier League giants Manchester United will begin their pre-season 2024 against Norwegian football club Rosenborg at Lerkendal Stadion in Trondheim, Norway.

The Manchester United vs Rosenborg pre-season friendly will start at 9:30 PM IST on Monday, July 15.

Under the tutelage of manager Erik ten Hag, Manchester United will take a young side to Norway for the first of their five friendlies scheduled this summer.

The Red Devils will then travel to Scotland to face Rangers at Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh on July 20.

After these two pre-season 2024 friendlies, Manchester United will head into the United States as part of their preparations for the 2024-25 season.

Erik ten Hag’s men will commence their US tour with a high-profile friendly against Arsenal at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on July 27 (July 28 IST).

Manchester United are later scheduled to lock horns with La Liga outfit Real Betis at the Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego on July 31 (August 1 IST).

The highlight of the pre-season 2024 tour will be the much-awaited clash against arch-rivals Liverpool to be played at the William-Brice Stadium in South Carolina on August 3 (August 4 IST).

The likes of Marcus Rashford, Casemiro, Mason Mount, Andre Onana and Victor Lindelof are some of the players that have already reported back to training at Carrington.

Star defender Harry Maguire has also started training at Carrington but it is not clear if he is fit to play.

Will Fish, Habeeb Ogunneye, Harry Amass and James Scanlon are some of the youngsters who could feature in the pre-season friendly against Rosenborg.

Meanwhile, Manchester United players that were involved in either Euro 2024 or the Copa America will not travel to Norway.

On the other hand, Rosenborg are the most successful club in Norwegian professional league history with 26 titles.

Under manager Alfred Johansson, Rosenborg are midway through their season and are currently placed ninth in the league standings.

Rosenborg will head into the pre-season friendly against Manchester United after suffering a 1-4 defeat against Sarpsborg in their last match in the Eliteserien.

Manchester United vs Rosenborg head-to-head

Manchester United have previously played two friendlies against Rosenborg, winning 3-2 in 1992 and 8-0 in 1977. However, the two teams have never met competitively.

In 1992, the Alex Ferguson-led United rode on goals from Paul Ince, Brian McClair and Denis Irwin to register a 3-2 win in a pre-season fixture.

Previously, United thrashed Rosenborg 8-0 courtesy goals from Gordon Hill, Alex Forsyth, Sammy McIlroy, David McCreery, Jimmy Greenhoff, Martin Buchan and an own goal to secure a thumping victory in front of around 8,000 spectators.
