A high-flying Manchester United will aim to make it four wins in four when they take on Aston Villa at the Optus Stadium in Perth on Saturday, July 23. The match will kick-off at 3:15 PM IST.
Fresh off from an impressive 3-1 win over Crystal Palace, Erik ten Hag’s men have scored 11 goals in their last three outings while conceding just twice. Villa are also unbeaten in their pre-season friendlies, defeating Walsall, Leeds United and Brisbane Roar in successive outings.
For United, there remains uncertainty over the availability of a few of their first-team regulars. This includes midfielder Scott McTominay and defender Raphael Varane. The former missed a training session on Wednesday to undergo a recovery gym session while the latter was sidelined for the clash against Crystal Palace due to an injury.
If McTominay misses out, Donny van de Beek could come into the midfield and ten Hag might once again favour the pair of Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof at the back.
As far as Aston Villa are concerned, manager Steven Gerrard is expected to name a similar XI that took the field against Brisbane Roar. This means the likes of Philippe Coutinho, Leon Bailey, Danny Ings and Ollie Watkins could all start for the team.
