La Liga 2020-21 season is set for an enthralling finish on Saturday, with both the capital giants Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid in contention to lift the title on the very last matchweek of the season. Only two points separate both sides at the top of the table with one match to go.
League leaders Atletico Madrid, who have 83 points from 37 matches, host relegation-threatened Real Valladolid at the Jose Zorrilla Stadium. Meanwhile, second-placed Real Madrid, with 81 points from as many matches, will host Villareal at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano. Watch La Liga live in India!
Despite being the favourites to lift the title for the first time since the 2013-14 season, Diego Simeone's men will be under intense pressure as even a draw could give defending champions Real Madrid a chance to win the league. If Atletico draw and Real win then both sides would be tied on equal points (84).
However, if the teams do end up tied on points, Los Blancos would have successfully defended their league title courtesy their superior head-to-head record this season, which has seen them beat their city rivals 2-0 and draw 1-1 in the league.

Atletico’s opponent, Valladolid, will have an added incentive to win this fixture as well, given the fact that three points might pull them out of the relegation zone.
Unai Emery’s Villareal, who have already reached the final of the UEFA Europa League, is also expected to make Real Madrid’s life difficult. Sitting at seventh, a win for the yellow submarines might just squeeze them into a qualifying spot for next season’s UEL.
Sitting third with 76 points from 37 games, Barcelona are out of the title contention. However, Barca will need to win their next match against Eibar to prevent fourth-placed Sevilla from moving above them in the standings.
