The football event of the Khelo India University Games 2021 is set to begin on April 24 at the Jain Sports School in Bengaluru.
The women’s football event at KIUG 2021 will begin from Sunday, April 24 while the men’s tournament will commence on Monday, April 25.
This is the second edition of the Khelo India University Games after the inaugural edition back in 2020. The 2021 edition was pushed to 2022 due to COVID-19 pandemic.
Chandigarh’s Panjab University, the overall defending champions of the Khelo India University Games, will begin their football event with a men’s game against Punjabi University of Patiala.
The women’s and men’s category will have two groups - A and B - with four teams each. The matches will be played in a round-robin format with teams playing against each other once in their respective groups.
The semi-final fixtures of the football event of Khelo India University Games 2021 will begin on April 30 for the women’s category and for men on May 1.
The bronze medal and gold medal fixtures for women will be played on Monday, May 2 whereas the men’s bronze and gold medal matches are scheduled for Tuesday, May 3.
