Under coach Biby Thomas Muttath, Kerala stormed into the Santosh Trophy 2024-25 semi-final after they pipped Jammu and Kashmir 1-0 in their quarter-final clash on Friday.
Naseeb Rahman netted the match-winning goal in the 73rd minute to guide Kerala to the last four.
With four wins and one draw, Kerala earlier finished on top of Santosh Trophy 2024-25 Final Round Group B standings with 13 points from five games to qualify for the quarter-final stage.
Kerala advanced to the Santosh Trophy 2024-25 Final Round after they topped Group H standings with nine points from three matches.
On the other hand, Manipur beat Delhi 5-2 in their Santosh Trophy 2024-25 quarter-final encounter after the game ended in a 2-2 draw in regulation time.
Shunjanthan Ragui’s two extra-time goals along with strikes from LT Lowly, Sagar Singh and Khullakpam Zahir Khan powered Manipur to the Santosh Trophy 2024-25 semi-finals. For Delhi, Jaideep Singh scored both the goals.
Earlier, Manipur finished second in the Santosh Trophy 2024-25 Final Round Group A standings with three wins and two draws to book their place in the quarter-finals.
The Kamei Joy Rongmei-coached Manipur previously qualified for the Santosh Trophy 2024-25 Final Round after they finished on top of Group D standings with three victories in as many games.
Meanwhile, Kerala have won the Santosh Trophy on seven occasions while Manipur have clinched the coveted title once in 2002-03.
In the first semi-final, defending champions Services will square off against 32-time winners West Bengal at the GMC Balayogi Athletic Stadium in Hyderabad on Sunday.
