The Intercontinental Cup 2024 will start on September 3 and run till September 9 in Hyderabad. 

Organised by the All India football federation (AIFF), the Intercontinental Cup 2024 is a three-nation football tournament.

Hosts India, Mauritius and Syria are the three teams that will feature in the fourth edition of the Intercontinental Cup.

The Intercontinental Cup 2024 will feature teams from two different confederations in the FIFA international window. 

Syria from the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), Mauritius from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and hosts India will play against each other in a round-robin format. The winner in the group stage will be crowned champions. 

Ranked 93rd in the official FIFA rankings, Syria will be the top-ranked team in the competition, followed by India placed at the 124th spot. Mauritius will be the lowest ranked in the upcoming tournament as they are ranked 179th in the FIFA rankings.

All matches in the Intercontinental Cup 2024 will be played at the  G. M. C. Balayogi Athletic Stadium in Hyderabad.

India are the defending champions of the Intercontinental Cup after they defeated Lebanon 2-0 in the 2023 final at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar. They are also the most successful team in the tournament’s history with two titles in 2018 and 2023.

North Korea won the second edition of the tournament in 2019.

Under newly-appointed head coach Manolo Marquez, the India national football team will aim to defend the Intercontinental Cup in Hyderabad.

Kiyan Nassiri Giri, Edmund Lalrindika and Lalthathanga Khawlhring are some of the new faces included in the India squad.
