Mohammedan Sporting Club, Bengaluru Football Club, Delhi Football Club and Mangala Club are the remaining teams in the Futsal Club Championship 2021-22 season. The four teams will lock horns in two semi-finals on November 12 to book a place in the final showdown which will be played at KD Jadhav Indoor Arena in Delhi on Saturday, November 13.
The upcoming semis on Friday pitted Mohammedan SC against Bengaluru FC in semi-final 1, while Delhi FC square off against Mangala Club in semi-final 2.
Out of the four teams, only Bengaluru FC have lost a match in the group stage fixtures. The rest of the teams have remained unbeaten.
Delhi FC, in particular, have been extremely vicious as they have scored a whopping 44 goals in just three matches. More than one-third of those goals have been scored by striker Nikhil Mali (15 goals), who is currently the top scorer in the competition.
Meanwhile, Bengaluru FC only qualified for the semis on the back of a superior goal difference (+7). The team scored 14 goals in three matches and conceded seven. Second-placed Sporting Clube de Goa finished level on points with Bengaluru but had a goal difference of +3.
Mohammedan SC registered their biggest victory on the opening day of the tournament against Baroda FC. The team won 9-0 with nine different goal scorers. The subsequent game, however, saw Super Strikers giving Mohammedan a run for their money, but a brace from Sachin Patil guided his team to a 4-3 win.
Mangala Club was the final team to qualify for the semi-finals as their last group stage game against Classic Football Academy was the decider. A narrow 6-4 win, however, gave them safe passage to the final four with Babul Kumar Rout scoring three goals.
