The Gaurs had begun the Juan Ferrando era by holding Bengaluru FC to a 2-2 draw in their last encounter.
Goa were trailing by two goals until the 66th minute and managed to register a point courtesy two quick goals scored by their new Spanish recruit Igor Angulo.
After an hour mark into the contest, FCG had made two attacking substitutions by bringing on Brandon Fernandes and Alberto Noguera. The substitutions immediately paid off as the Gaurs found their way back into the game with two goals from their talisman Angulo.
After the game, Ferrando had shown his displeasure and believed that his side would only get better with more minutes on the pitch.
"We need more games and I hope game-by-game, the team will get stronger and everyone (every player) understands the concept of our tactics," he stated.
