The Euro 2024 started on June 14 and will run till June 14 in Germany.
Organised by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), as many as 24 men's national teams are competing for the quadrennial international football championship.
As per the Euro 2024 schedule, these teams will play a total of 51 games across 10 venues in the 17th edition of the UEFA European Championship.
Meanwhile, these participating teams have been divided into six groups of four teams each.
Group A includes Germany, Scotland, Hungary and Switzerland, while Group B features Spain, Croatia, Italy and Albania.
Slovenia, Denmark, Serbia and England are clubbed in Group C. Group D comprises Poland, Netherlands, Austria and France.
Group E has Belgium, Slovakia, Romania and Ukraine, while Turkey, Georgia, Portugal and Czechia are placed in Group F.
Each team will play the other three sides in their group once in a single round-robin format.
The top two teams from each group and the best four third-placed teams will advance to the round of 16.
The knockout stage also comprises quarter-finals, semi-finals and the final. The Euro 2024 final will be played on July 14.
Italy are the defending champions of the UEFA European Football Championship after beating England in the final of the previous edition in 2021.
Meanwhile, Germany and Spain are the most successful teams in the tournament’s history with three titles each.
Apart from the title, all eyes will be on the Euro 2024 top scorers list.
Several top footballers including the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappe, Harry Kane, Romelu Lukaku, Robert Lewandowski, Antoine Griezmann, Álvaro Morata and Florian Wirtz are expected to be in the Euro 2024 top scorers race.
Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo and Czech Republic's Patrik Schick topped the Euro top scorers list last edition. Both Ronaldo and Schick scored five goals each in Euro 2021.
Interestingly, Ronaldo holds the record for most goals in UEFA European Football Championship history. He has already netted 14 goals across five editions of the tournament.
