East Bengal will lock horns with arch-rivals Mohun Bagan Super Giant in the first Kolkata derby of the Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 season at the iconic Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata on Saturday, October 19.

The East Bengal vs Mohun Bagan ISL 2024-25 match will start at 7:30 PM IST. Live streaming and telecast of the Kolkata derby will be available in India.

Under newly-appointed head coach Oscar Bruzon, East Bengal will look to turn things around after having lost all their four matches in the ongoing Indian Super League. 

Despite roping in several high-profile names in the summer transfer window, East Bengal started their ISL 2024-25 campaign with a 0-1 loss to Bengaluru FC away from home in September.

The Red and Gold Brigade later suffered defeats against Kerala Blasters (1-2), FC Goa (2-3) and Jamshedpur FC (2-0) to remain the only team without a point in the 13-team standings.

Currently languishing at the bottom of the ISL 2024-25 standings, the four consecutive losses led to the departure of their former head coach Carles Cuadrat, who guided East Bengal to the Super Cup title last season.

On the other hand, Mohun Bagan will head into the Kolkata derby brimming with confidence after they secured a 3-0 win over Mohammedan Sporting Club in their previous ISL fixture.

New summer signings Jamie Maclaren and Greg Stewart netted a goal each while Subhasish Bose also found the back of the net to help the Mariners register three crucial points from the game.

Earlier, Mohun Bagan began their ISL 2024-25 campaign with a 2-2 draw against Mumbai City FC and later beat NorthEast United FC 3-2.

However, the José Francisco Molina-managed side suffered a 0-3 defeat against Bengaluru FC in their first away game of the ongoing ISL.

Having registered two wins, one draw and one loss, Mohun Bagan are currently placed fourth in the ISL 2024-25 standings with seven points from four games.

The season’s first Kolkata derby between East Bengal and Mohun Bagan scheduled in the Durand Cup 2024 in August was earlied cancelled due to security concerns amid the RG Kar rape-and-murder protests.

The last time these two sides met, Mohun Bagan Super Giant defeated East Bengal in a ISL 2023-24 clash at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata in March.

Jason Cummings, Liston Colaco and Dimitri Petratos netted a goal each for the Mariners. For East Bengal, Saúl Crespo scored a consolation goal in the 53rd minute of the game.
