Organised by the English Football League, the Carabao Cup also known as the EFL Cup or the League Cup is an annual knockout competition in men’s domestic football in England.
A total of 92 teams from the English Premier League and the three tiers of the English Football League entered the 65th edition of the tournament.
All rounds in the knockout tournament are single-legged except the two semi-finals. The fate of any single-legged match is decided by penalties if the scores are level at the end of the regulation period.

Barrow, meanwhile, are on top of the English Football League Two table, the fourth tier in the English football pyramid after the Premier League, the Championship and League One.
Barrow are flying high with five wins out of their first seven matches in League Two and they head into the contest with a 2-0 home win over Newport County behind them.
