With six points from two matches, ATK Mohun Bagan are currently at the top of the Group D standings. The Kolkata giants need just a draw against Bashundhara Kings in their last group match in order to secure a place in the Inter-Zone Semi-final.
“We have six points, and no other team has that. [In this match] we had the possibility to draw, but we didn't have to think that way, only the possibility for us to try to win, and this will be our idea for the next match,” said ATK Mohun Bagan head coach Antonio López Habas.
On the other hand, Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) champion Bashundhara Kings played a goalless draw against Bengaluru FC to knock the Indian Super League (ISL) club out of the competition on Saturday. The Bangladesh outfit currently has four points from two matches, having beaten Maziya 2-0 in their opening group match on Wednesday.
With their second consecutive defeat, local club Maziya joined Bengaluru FC to be eliminated from the ongoing edition of the AFC Cup.
