After having lost their first game of the season against Jamshedpur FC, Antonio Lopez Habas’ ATK Mohun Bagan (ATKMB) now lock horns with Hyderabad FC (HFC) in their fifth game of the Indian Super League 2020-21 season.

ATKMB won their opening three games on the trot, but slumped to a disappointing 2-1 defeat against Jamshedpur FC on Monday, courtesy of a brace from striker Nerijus Valskis. For HFC, they are coming on the back two back-to-back draws against Bengaluru FC and Jamshedpur FC after winning their opening game 1-0 against Odisha FC.

The Kolkata-based club, prior to their merger with Mohun Bagan, have played just two games against HFC and the ATK Mohun Bagan vs Hyderabad FC head-to-head count sees the former winning one of the two meetings, while the other ended in a draw.

ATKMB have been heavily reliant on their star forward Roy Krishna, who has scored four of the five goals the team has netted this season, including two winners against Kerala Blasters and Odisha FC. For Hyderabad FC, Aridane Santana has scored both the goals the team has notched in ISL 7.

Lobera’s side have scored all of their five goals in the second half of the game and are the only team who are yet to concede a goal from open play in ISL 2020-21. As far as Krishna is concerned, he has taken 30% of the total shots ATK Mohun Bagan have attempted in ISL 7, with only Anthony Pilkington managing more for a team this season. Furthermore, the Fiji international simply loves scoring against Hyderabad FC, to say the least, as he netted three times against The Nizams in ISL 6.

ATKMB will rightfully enter the contest as favourites, but note that this is a different Hyderabad unit altogether given that they have let in a solitary goal in three games this season.
