Inter’s newest acquisition from Manchester United, Ashley Young was given his first start for his new club by Antonio Conte on Sunday against Cagliari, and the 34-year-old laid on a perfect assist for Lautaro Martinez to mark a beginning of a series of trolls on Twitter targeted towards his former club.

Young, having joined Inter for a reported £1.28 million fee, took mere 29 minutes to assert his authority in the game. The 34-year-old was deployed as a right wing-bank in a 3-5-2 approach, and it only took him a touch before delivering a beautiful cross for Lautaro Martínez to head home.

The England international was a part of just 12 league games for Manchester United this season, and with his contract running out at the end of the campaign, the Red Devils decided to agree a deal with Inter, who have already signed the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez from the club. And while the latter is still struggling with injuries and inconsistency, the former has hit the ground running by netting 14 goals in 20 Serie A appearances.

As for Inter, they are also closing in on a deal for Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen for a reported fee of around £16m which would see him earning near to £320,000 per week.

Meanwhile, Young’s pin-point delivery for Martinez has got the internet talking and this is how they are reacting to it:
