A dominant Manchester United travel to Italy to take on AS Roma, while Arsenal play host to Villarreal in the second leg of the UEFA Europa League semi-final in the early hours of Friday.
The two English teams endured contrasting results in the first leg as Man United won their tie 6-2 and Arsenal lost 2-1.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men will play at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome with a strong advantage and a foot in the UEL final. The record English champions are in good form; they have lost just one of their last 22 matches in all competitions and are unbeaten away from home in the UEFA Europa League.
AS Roma, on the other hand, are without a win in their last six games across all competitions and have scored a mere seven goals during the tenure. The Italia team have a four-goal deficit to overcome and are coming on the back of a 2-0 loss against Sampdoria in their away game in Serie A.
Meanwhile, the Arsenal vs Villarreal game will see former Gunners manager Unai Emery returning to the Emirates Stadium for the first time since being sacked in November 2019. The Spanish team hasn’t been in the best of form this season, yet they managed to win the first leg.
Arsenal, however, have the all-important away goal advantage. But they will be without Dani Ceballos, who was sent off in the first leg, and perhaps Kieran Tierney and Alexandre Lacazette, who are carrying injuries.
