Chelsea Women continued their dominant run in the Women’s Super League (WSL) with a 3-1 win over Leicester City at Kingsmeadow on Wednesday, March 5. This victory gave them an 8-point lead over Manchester United, their closest contender in the league.

Catarina Macario, Aggie Beever-Jones, and Erin Cuthbert scored for Chelsea. Meanwhile, Yuka Momiki scored one goal for Leicester. This win marks the Blues’ 14th of the season, pushing them further ahead on the table. Moreover, they are now 14 points ahead from their final six games to secure their sixth consecutive WSL title.

Meanwhile, Man Utd kept their hopes alive with a 2-0 win over Leicester City last Sunday, March 02. Goals from Melvine Malard and Leah Galton sealed their seventh win, which kept up the pressure on the leaders Chelsea.

The Blues’ depth has been key to their success, though injuries remain a concern. This led Chelsea’s manager, Sonia Bompastor, to make changes and hold the squad firm.

With only a handful of games left, the title race is far from over. Chelsea is set to face Manchester City on March 23 after the latter’s setback in a 1-1 draw with West Ham.
