Under head coach Sanjoy Sen, West Bengal stormed into their 47th Santosh Trophy final after they defeated defending champions Services 4-2 in the first semi-final at the GMC Balayogi Athletic Stadium on Sunday.

Robi Hansda netted a brace while Manotos Maji and Naro Hari Shrestha scored a goal each to guide Bengal to another Santosh Trophy final.

Bikash Thapa and an own goal from Bengal defender Juwel Ahmed Mazumder reduced the margin for the Services.

Sanjoy Sen’s men have played some attacking football in the ongoing tournament and have already scored 27 goals.

Robi Hansda (11) and Naro Hari Shrestha (7) have been the top goal-scorers for Bengal in the tournament.

On the other hand, Kerala thrashed Manipur 5-1 in the other semi-final to book their place in the Santosh Trophy final for the 16th time.

A late Muhammad Roshal PP hat-trick along with first-half goals from Naseeb Rehman and Muhmmad Ajsal powered Kerala to the Santosh Trophy 2024-25 final.

Kerala have also showcased their attacking prowess with a staggering 35 goals in the tournament under coach Biby Thomas Muttath.

Muhammad Ajsal (9), Naseeb Rahman (8), and Sajeesh E (5) have been the leading goalscorers for Kerala in the 78th National Football Championship for the Santosh Trophy.

Meanwhile, Bengal have been the most successful team in the Santosh Trophy history with 32 titles while Kerala have clinched the coveted title on seven occasions.
