Southampton will host Liverpool in a Carabao Cup 2024-25 quarter-final tie at the St. Mary's Stadium in Southampton, England.

Taylor Harwood-Bellis provided Southampton an early lead before Adam Armstrong made it 2-0 from the penalty spot. Stoke City later bounced back courtesy goals from Ashley Phillips and Thomas Cannon.

James Bree later netted the match-winning goal in the 88th minute to guide Southampton to the last eight.

Meanwhile, Southampton will head into the crucial game after succumbing to a 0-5 defeat against Tottenham in the Premier League.

With just a solitary win in 16 matches, Southampton are currently languishing at the bottom of the Premier League 2024-25 standings with five points.
