The FIFA Club World Cup 2025 will be the first under an expanded format with 32 teams from across the globe competing to be club world champions.

Organised by football’s world governing body FIFA, the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 will be staged across 12 venues in the United States. 

The qualification for the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 was based on a continental basis with UEFA awarded the most slots with 12. CONMEBOL was given six slots while AFC, CAF, and CONCACAF were awarded four slots each. The OFC and the host association were given one slot each.

Manchester City are the defending champions of the FIFA Club World Cup under the old format. They thrashed Fluminense 4-0 in the 2023 final at the King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia in December last year.

FIFA Club World Cup 2025 dates and format

The FIFA Club World Cup 2025 will start on June 15 and run till July 13 after the regular club season. 

As per the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 format, these 32 teams were divided into eight groups of four teams each. 

The top two teams from each group will advance to the knockout stage that includes Round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals and the final.

The FIFA Club World Cup 2025 format is the same as that used in the FIFA World Cup between 1998 and 2022.

FIFA Club World Cup 2025 prize money

The FIFA Club World Cup 2025 has a total prize money of around €2.5bn. The initial €2bn will be divided among the 32 participants that will compete in the United States.

Additionally, there will be result-oriented bonuses with the winner receiving nearly €100m.
