Arsenal Women’s attack shines in 4-0 WSL win over Liverpool

Arsenal Women delivered a strong 4-0 win over Liverpool Women in the Women’s Super League (WSL) at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, March 22. Jasmine Matthews had a tough game, scoring two goals that quickly added to Arsenal’s lead. The Reds, who had won their last two matches, failed to break through the Gunners’ solid defence.
Caitlin Foord opened the scoring in the first half with a close-range net in the 28th minute. Just a minute later, Matthews deflected Liverpool’s pass to slot into their net. Mariona Caldentey added another goal in the 44th minute, with the Gunners leaving the first half at 3-0.
The second half saw more trouble for the Reds as Matthews slotted her second own goal in the 69th minute, claiming their 4-0 victory. Arsenal remains second in the WSL table, five points behind leaders Chelsea.
