The Premier League is known for its brute physicality and searing pace, making it all the more difficult for migrating footballers to adapt to the league.
However, Erling Haaland busted that myth with a blazing start to his Premier League career with Manchester City. The Norwegian striker moved from Borussia Dortmund in Germany to Greater Manchester, becoming the newest and most lethal weapon in Pep Guardiola’s arsenal.
Haaland scored three hat-tricks in the first nine City matches, including a treble in the Manchester Derby that The Cityzens won 6-3. No player in Premier League history has scored three EPL hat-tricks quicker than Haaland.
Erling Haaland has scored 26 goals and leads the Premier League 2022-23 Golden Boot race so far.
Harry Kane is next in line for this enthralling race for the Golden Boot. Once again, the Spurs stalwart is leading his side by example and is now the third-highest goal-scorer in Premier League history.
During this season, he surpassed Sergio Aguero (184 goals) and Andy Cole (187 goals) and is closing in on Wayne Rooney (208 goals) who sits in the second spot.
Mohamed Salah, who has won the Golden Boot thrice in his career, is one short of Thierry Henry’s all-time record of winning four Golden Boots in the Premier League. However, he is off to a rocky start this edition and has much catching up to do to enter this race.
Nonetheless, some other players have stepped up, like Brentford’s Ivan Toney, Manchester United's Marcus Rashford, Fulham’s Alexandar Mitrovic and Leeds United’s Rodrigo Moreno, who will look to give Erling Haaland a tough challenge for the Golden Boot award.
Here’s a list of the leading goal-scorers in the Premier League this edition.
