Inter Miami’s all-time top-scorers list: Gonzalo Higuain, Lionel Messi feature

Former Argentine footballer Gonzalo Higuain has been leading Inter Miami’s all-time top-scorers list.

Gonzalo Higuaín signed for Major League Soccer (MLS) club Inter Miami on  September 18, 2020. 

The France-born striker later netted his first goal for Inter Miami after scoring a late free kick in their 2-1 victory over New York Red Bulls.

In July 2022, Higuaín bagged his first hat-trick for Inter Miami against FC Cincinnati in a pulsating 4-4 draw.

Higuaín finished his career as Inter Miami’s all-time top-scorer with 29 goals in 70 matches after he decided to retire at the end of Inter Miami's MLS 2022 season.

Ecuador forward Leonardo Campana features second on Inter Miami’s all-time top-scorers list.

Leonardo Campana joined Inter Miami on a season-long loan from the Wolverhampton Wanderers in January 2022.

The young forward later scored his first goal for Inter Miami in their 1-5 defeat against Austin FC.

Later in April 2022, Campana netted his first hat-trick for the club against New England Revolution. 

Following a hugely successful season on loan with the MLS club, Campana signed with Miami on a permanent basis in January 2023. 

Since then, Campana has scored 25 goals in 74 matches across competitions for Inter Miami.

Current captain Lionel Messi is third on Inter Miami’s all-time top-scorers list.

Since joining Inter Miami in July 2023, Lionel Messi has been in scintillating form for the MLS outfit.

Messi made his debut for Inter Miami against Cruz Azul in a Leagues Cup match on July 21. The Argentine talisman scored a brilliant free-kick in stoppage time to help Miami register a 2-1 win.

The 2022 FIFA World Cup winner went on to score nine goals in his first six matches to guide Miami to Leagues Cup 2023 final.

In the summit clash against Nashville SC, Messi opened the scoring before Nashville equalised in the second half as the game went to penalties. 

In the penalty shoot-out, Messi scored the first goal as Miami secured a 10-9 win to clinch their first-ever trophy.

In August, Messi made his MLS debut coming on as a substitute in the 60th minute against New York Red Bulls. 

Messi scored in their 2-0 victory to help Miami end their 11-match league winless streak. He ended his first season with 11 goals in 14 matches for Inter Miami.

The eight-time Ballon d'Or winner continued his brilliant form in the second season. He has already scored 23 goals in just 25 matches.
