The Indian Super League 2022-23, the top tier of the Indian football pyramid, kickstarted with Kerala Blasters’ 3-1 win over East Bengal FC in the first match on October 7, 2022.
Kerala Blasters’ Harmanjot Khabra recorded the first assist of the 2022-23 season with an inch-perfect lob from the half-line, which was slotted in the back of the net with precision by Adrian Luna.

Mumbai City FC’s Greg Stewart and ATK Mohun Bagan’s Dimitri Petratos are the top contenders to bag the ISL Winning Pass of the League award, which is given to the leading assists-provider of the season.
Greg Stewart has been the major creative force for the Islanders and is among the leading goal-scorers in ISL 2022-23.
Interestingly, Stewart topped the assists charts last season as well while plying his trade for Jamshedpur FC, providing 10 assists in 21 matches, helping The Men of Steel win the league shield.
East Bengal FC’s Naorem Singh also features among the players with the most assists in ISL 2022-23. The 23-year-old midfielder assisted thrice in a fixture against Jamshedpur FC during the first half of the league stage, which is the highest number of assists in a single match this season.
Hyderabad FC’s Halicharan Narzary, Mumbai City FC’s Jorge Diaz and Noah Sadaoui of FC Goa are also in the mix to conclude the season with the most assists and bag the ISL Winning Pass of the League award.
Meanwhile, Hugo Boumous, who holds the record for the most assists in the Indian Super League history, provided three assists in the first half of the 2022-23 campaign.
