The National Esports Championships 2023 will start on September 4.
Organised by the Esports Federation of India (ESFI), the National Esports Championships 2023 would act as qualifiers to select the Indian esports squad for the Global Esports Games (GEG) 2023 to be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
After a successful meet-up last year in Turkey, the Global Esports Games 2023 will once again look to bring together the top eSports athletes from around the world and host another successful edition of the highly-anticipated tournament in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.
The Global Esports Games 2023 will begin on December 11 and run till December 16. Top gamers aged 18 and above will compete for four major titles: DOTA 2, Street Fighter, eFootball 2023, and PUBG Mobile at the GEG 2023.
National Esports Championships 2023 dates and registration
DOTA 2, Street Fighter 6 and eFootball 2023 are the three esports games that will be played at the National Esports Championships 2023.
The registration dates for DOTA 2 at the National Esports Championships 2023 will remain open till September 2. Meanwhile, registrations for Street Fighter 6 and eFootball 2023 will continue till September 6.
The national qualifiers for DOTA 2 are scheduled to start on September 4, while qualifiers for Street Fighter 6 and eFootball 2023 will begin on September 9.
The qualified athletes from the National Esports Championships 2023 will clash with the top Asian athletes in the regional qualifiers.
India will square off against Malaysia and Mongolia on September 9. The dates for the regional qualifiers for eFootball 2023 and Street Fighter 6 are yet to be revealed.
“The NESC 2023 has always ensured a fair selection of our supremely skilled athletes to represent our country on the international stage and we look forward to more of the same this time round,” President of Esports Federation of India Vinod Tiwari said.
After the conclusion of NESC 2023, the qualified players will compete against the top athletes from Asia in the regional qualifiers for their respective titles.
In DOTA 2, India is set to face Malaysia and Mongolia on September 9 while the dates for the eFootball 2023 and Street Fighter 6 regional qualifiers are yet to be revealed.
