The League of Legends Worlds 2024 will be staged in three phases - Play-In, Swiss Stage and Knockout Stage.

The LoL Worlds 2024 Play-In is scheduled to take place from September 25-29. As many as eight teams will compete in a double elimination bracket. All Play-In matches will be in a best-of-three series. The top four teams will advance to the Swiss Stage while the remaining teams will be eliminated.

The League of Legends Worlds 2024 Swiss Stage will be held from October 3-13. The Swiss Stage will see four teams from the Play-In Stage and 12 teams with direct entry from China, South Korea, Europe and North America battle to advance to the Knockout Stage.

It will be staged in a 16-team Swiss System format. Round 1 teams will be paired against teams from a different region while Rounds 2 to 5 will be seeded based on each team's win-loss record. Elimination and Advancement matches will be a best-of-three while all other matches will be a best-of-one.

As per the rules, each team can face an opponent only once throughout the Swiss Stage. Teams that register three wins will advance to the Knockout Stage while teams that suffer three losses will be eliminated.

Throughout the Swiss Stage, side selection will be determined by initial draw pool - the higher pool will receive side selection. In matches between teams from the same draw pool, side selection will be determined by the team's drawing order.

The LoL Worlds 2024 Knockout Stage will start on October 17 and will conclude on November 2.

As many as eight teams will play in a single elimination bracket. Teams with Side Selection Privilege can choose the side in game 1, after that, the losing team can choose the side in the next game.

In Quarterfinals, Side Selection Privilege will be granted to teams with better match records in the Swiss Stage. In the case where both teams have the same match record, Side Selection Privilege will be determined by the order teams are drawn in Quarterfinals.

In the following matches, the Side Selection Privilege will be determined by coin flip.

All Knockout Stage matches will be in a best-of-five.
