The League of Legends has been included in the Esports World Cup 2024 to be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Organised by the Esports World Cup Foundation, the inaugural Esports World Cup is set to boast the largest prize pool in eSports history and will see teams battle across games from various genres to become world champion. 

The Esports World Cup will be replacing Gamers8, a renowned eSports festival staged in Saudi Arabia. 

League of Legends Esports World Cup 2024 dates and format

The League of Legends Esports World Cup 2024 will start on July 4 and conclude on July 7.

As per the League of Legends Esports World Cup format, as many as eight teams will compete in a single elimination bracket. Quarter-finals and semi-finals will be in a best-of-three series while the Grand Finals will be in a best-of-five format.

These eight teams were invited to feature in the inaugural Esports World Cup which consisted of top League of Legends teams from all over the world including from LPL, LPK, LEC and LCS regions.

League of Legends Esports World Cup 2024 prize pool

The League of Legends Esports World Cup 2024 has a total prize pool of $1 million.

The winner of the tournament will receive a cash prize of $400,000 while the runner-up will get $200,000. The third and fourth-placed teams will get $100,000.

Meanwhile, the Esports World Cup 2024 will have the largest prize pool in eSports history at over $60 million.
