The inaugural Indus International Tournament will start in October 2024 and run till February 2025 in India.
Organised by India’s game development studio SuperGaming, the Indus International Tournament will see top teams from India and around the world compete in the Indus Battle Royale game.
Developed and published by SuperGaming, the Indus Battle Royale game will be available to players on both Android and iOS starting on October 16, 2024.
The Indo-futuristic battle royale game will feature an island map of Indus, Virlok with a futuristic concept based on Indian culture and lush vegetation. Gamers will be able to select between first-person and third-person perspective.
Indus is inspired by Indian culture as well as mythology and features the Indus Valley Civilisation as the theme.
“When we set out to create Indus, our goal was to craft a game that Indian gamers could truly call their own. With the Indus International Tournament, we want to see new heroes rise from our community and take their place in the larger esports ecosystem," SuperGaming CEO and Co-founder of SuperGaming Roby John said.
“India's esports landscape is rapidly evolving and we believe the country is ready to compete on the world stage. Through this tournament, we're excited to elevate India's presence in esports and inspire a new generation of players to pursue gaming at a professional level," he added.
Indus International Tournament registration dates
The registration for the Indus International Tournament started on October 10 and will conclude at 2:00 PM on October 31. Interested candidates can register by entering their details in the tournament’s Google Form link.
Indus International Tournament schedule and format
The Indus International Tournament will be staged in four phases. The tournament will kick off with the ‘Homegrown’ phase to be held from November 6 to December 3 and will offer a prize pool of INR 15 lakhs in this phase.
The second phase named the ‘Nationals’ will offer a prize pool of INR 10 lakh. This phase will be followed by the ‘Powerplay’ phase which will cater to professional eSports teams and will offer a prize pool of INR 25 lakh.
The fourth and final phase known as the ‘International’ phase will see teams from other countries also take part in the tournament. In the final round, as many as 15 teams will compete for a total prize pool of INR 2 crore.
The Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the Indus International Tournament will also be rewarded with a Mahindra Thar.
Indus International Tournament prize pool
The Indus International Tournament will offer the largest eSports prize pool for a battle royale game in India. Teams from India and from across the globe will compete for a total prize pool of a whopping INR 2.5 crore.
