The EMEA Masters Summer 2023 started on August 14 and will conclude on September 8 in Montpellier, France.
Organised by American video game developer Riot Games, the EMEA Masters Summer 2023 will see as many as 28 top European teams compete from the various summer regional leagues.
The EMEA Masters Summer 2023 is the second EMEA Masters tournament and is being hosted at the Sud de France Arena.
EMEA Masters Summer 2023 format
The EMEA Masters Summer 2023 will be held into two stages - the Play-In and the Main Event.
As many 16 teams from the numerous summer regional leagues such as the French LFL, the Spanish SupeLiga, the German Prime League and the Arabian League have qualified for the Play-Ins. These 16 teams have been divided into four groups of four teams each. Each team will play the other in their group twice in best-of-one matches.
The top two teams from each group will advance to the Knockout Stage.
According to the Play-In Knockout Stage, the top-placed team will face the runner-up from the other group. All matches in the Play-In Knockout Stage will be contested in a best-of-three series.
The four winners from the Play-In Knockout Stage will join the 12 already qualified teams in the EMEA Masters Summer 2023 Main Event.
As per the EMEA Masters Summer 2023 Main Event format, as many as 16 qualified teams will be placed in four groups of four teams each.
These 16 teams will clash in a double round-robin format in best-of-one matches.
Just like the Play-In Knockout Stage, the top two teams from each group will qualify for the Knockout Stage of the Main Event.
The eight teams will compete in a single elimination bracket with the first-placed team facing the second-placed side of the other group. All matches will be held in best-of-five series.
