The Dota 2 The International 2024 will start on September 4 and run till September 15 in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Also commonly called TI 2024 or TI 13, the Dota 2 The International 2024 is the thirteenth annual edition of The International, which is the biggest event in the Dota competitive calendar.

The upcoming Dota 2 TI 2024 is the first edition of the tournament since 2017 to select one or more participating teams through a direct invite process, and the first since 2019 to feature open qualifiers.

Dota 2 The International 2024 schedule and format

The Dota 2 The International 2024 has been divided into two distinct phases: The qualifiers, group stage, and playoffs (until top eight) are branded as part of The Road to The International, while the playoffs for the remaining eight teams are branded as The International itself.

A total of 16 teams including six invited teams and 10 teams from regional qualifiers, including two teams each from Western Europe, China, Southeast Asia and South America and one team each from Eastern Europe and North America will compete in the Dota 2 The International 2024.

The Dota 2 The International 2024 Group Stage will take place from September 4-5. These participating teams have been split into four groups of four teams each. All group stage matches will be held in best-of-two series.

The top two teams in each group will be matched with opponents from either the third or fourth place teams in the opposite group (A vs B and C vs D) for seeding matches.

The seeding deciders to be staged from September 6-7 will determine the order the top 16 teams play out the main event bracket. These 16 teams will play eight best-of-three head to head matches to determine main event bracket placement.

The Dota 2 The International 2024 main event has been further divided into playoffs and the finals.

The playoffs will take place from September 8-10 while the finals will be held from September 13-15 at the Royal Arena in Copenhagen, Denmark.

These 16 teams will play in a double-elimination bracket. Eight teams begin in the Upper Bracket, eight in the Lower Bracket.

All series will be best-of-three except the Grand Finals, which will be in best-of-five series.
