The Asian Games 2023 is scheduled to be held from September 23 to October 8 in Hangzhou, China.
The 15-day long continental showpiece competition was earlier scheduled to take place from September 10 to 25 last year, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
As many as 481 events across 40 sports will be held at the Asiad 2023.
Esports will make its debut as a medal event in Asiad as one of the disciplines to be played at Hangzhou 2023.
Earlier in 2018, Esports made its mark as a demonstration sport at the previous Asian Games hosted in Indonesia.
League of Legends will be one of the seven esports games to be staged at Asian Games 2023.
Arena of Valor (Asian Games version), Dota 2, Dream Three Kingdoms 2, FIFA Online 4, PUBG Mobile (Asian Games version) and Street Fighter V: Champion Edition are the other esports medal events at Hangzhou 2023.

Asian Games 2023 League of Legends format
As many as 12 teams will compete in the Asian Games 2023 League of Legends event.
These 12 participating teams will be divided into four groups of three teams each. Teams placed in the same group will clash in a round-robin format. All matches will be contested in a best-of-one. Group winners will advance to the knockout stage.
Meanwhile, the winners of the “Road to Asian Games” events from the East Asia, Central Asia, Southeast Asia, and South and West Asia regions have already secured direct qualification for the knockout stage.
China (East Asia), Malaysia (Southeast Asia), India (Central Asia), and Saudi Arabia (West Asia) have earned direct entry into the playoff stage.
In the knockout stage, the four group winners and the four seeded teams will compete in a single-elimination bracket. All matches will be held in best-of-three series.
