Apex Legends has been included in the Esports World Cup 2024 to be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Organised by the Esports World Cup Foundation, the inaugural Esports World Cup is set to boast the largest prize pool in eSports history and will see teams battle across games from various genres to become world champion. 

The Esports World Cup will be replacing Gamers8, a renowned eSports festival staged in Saudi Arabia. 

Apex Legends Esports World Cup 2024 dates and format

The Apex Legends Esports World Cup 2024 will start on July 31 and conclude on August 4.

As per the Apex Legends Esports World Cup 2024 format, the upcoming event will be staged in three phases - group stage, last dance and the finals.

In the group Stage, as many as 40 top teams will be divided into two even groups of 20 teams each and compete in a series of 10 games while all other teams till position 19 will play in a Last Chance series.

The 20th placed team from each group will be eliminated.

Meanwhile, a total of 20 teams will compete in a series of 10 games in Last Dance. The top two teams will advance to the finals. The rest will be knocked out of the competition.

The Apex Legends Esports World Cup 2024 finals will see 20 remaining teams battle for the coveted World Cup.

The 18 teams that advanced from the group stage will start the finals with advanced starting points based on their placements of Winners Bracket.

Apex Legends Esports World Cup 2024 prize pool

The Apex Legends Esports World Cup 2024 has a total prize pool of $2 million.

The winner of the tournament will receive a cash prize of $600,000 while the runner-up will get $375,000. The third-placed team will get $200,000.

Meanwhile, the Esports World Cup 2024 will have the largest prize pool in eSports history at over $60 million.
