KRAFTON’s BGIS 2025 kicks off: Who will rise on top?
Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2025 is here. It’s back with more matches and big prizes for fans all over India. Organised by KRAFTON and Tesseract Esports, the event is sponsored by Realme, meaning all players will use the Realme GT 7 Pro to play.
The matches began on March 29, with the Grand Finals scheduled offline from April 25 to April 27 at Biswa Bangla Mela Prangan in Kolkata, India. Fans can watch the event in Hindi and English. Famous casters and hosts are back this year to bring the games to life.
Top 16 teams to battle in 18 matches
The BGIS 2025 Grand Finals will have the top 16 teams from two hard-fought semifinal rounds. In Semifinals Week 1, 32 teams played to get a direct spot in the offline event. Only the best 8 teams made it through. The other 24 teams got one more chance in Semifinals Week 2. There, the top 8 teams moved on to complete the list for the Grand Finals.

Special awards up for grabs: MVP, Best IGL, Emerging Star
BGIS 2025 is not just about the main prize pool. There are also other awards for players who shine in the tournament. The MVP will win ₹300,000 while the Finals MVP will take home ₹150,000. There is also a ₹200,000 prize for the Best In-Game Leader (IGL), the player who guides the team and makes smart plans.
New players can also win the Emerging Star award with a prize money of ₹100,000. The Best Clutch award with ₹100,000 is given to the player who performs well in tough situations. The team who will be named as the fan favourite will also win ₹100,000.
Who will dominate this year?
Team Soul, one of the prominent teams in the 2023 Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series (BMPS), is back in BGIS 2025 with the hopes of finally taking home victory. Their experience makes them one of the strongest teams this time.
The BGIS MVP race always brings new stars. In 2024, NinjaBoi from Global Esports won the MVP after a strong Grand Finals. A year before that, DeltaPG from Gladiator Esports got the MVP. He helped his team win the trophy that year.
